Senior Merchant/Buyer

Role Responsibilities


  • Responsible for transactional P&L; and achieving and tracking weekly, quarterly, and yearly metrics
  • Evaluates results and plans to influence demands generation alternatives, product assortment, media selection, to establish a solid go to market strategy that delivers on RUM (Revenue, Units, Margin)
  • Develop and lead the execution of Dell s CRM strategy as well as the promotional strategy and key hero campaigns, which include Black Friday, Cyber Monday, President s Day, and many others
  • Drive the channel strategy and how to best optimize the assortment across Consumer Business, which includes Dell. com, Retail, Offline business, & Etail
  • Translates business strategies into product, operations, sales effort that deliver against both our core customer needs and our company strategic and financial goals
  • Analyzes business data, providing assessments of future trends, identifying and explaining variances from goals
  • Owns developing the right message to focus on influencing decisions and areas to focus for improving the business for the next business cycle and beyond
  • Applies deep understanding of customer s needs, the product and the competitive landscape
  • Collaborates with cross-functional team to develop, plan and implement new business development initiatives
  • Continuously monitors, identifies and implements the best practices, new tools and methods
  • Creates and implements executive level reporting strategy
    Develop merchandising strategies that balance customers satisfaction and company s business priorities
  • Deliver a high degree of output quality through critical problem-solving skills in a highly ambiguous and fluid environment


  • Experience in merchandising or buying for 5+ years
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and multiple direction changes.
  • Excellent communication skills - ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization
  • Strong team player and supporter
  • Strong knowledge of product
  • Bachelor's Degree required. MBA Preferred

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
