In Sales Compensation Operations we take charge of the calculation of commission and incentive award payments to sales personnel. We re tasked with developing, implementing, communicating and administering sales commission or incentive programs, plans, policies and quotas. We also analyze sales performance results, prepare commission expense reports and provide presentations and recommendations for sales or finance management.

Key Responsibilities

Provide sales compensation analysis and support for DFS North America sales as well as support of the Dell Sales Compensation Program

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Accurate and timely payout of segment sales commissions
  • Ensure commission payouts are in compliance with DFS Compensation Plan, Crediting Rules, and WW Policies
  • Calculation and submission of all monthly, quarterly, and exception based manual adjustments impacting commission payouts
  • Adhering to Sales Comp Operations submission deadlines for monthly and quarterly commissions close processes
  • Review and understand Compensation Plan, Crediting Rules, and Compensation Policy changes; adoption of processes required to execute commissions according to the plan documents
  • Manage daily activities for integrated DFS/Dell sales compensation program
  • Schedule and drive quarterly reviews with senior sales leadership
  • Analyze data from a variety of sources to research and resolve commission pay discrepancies and address sales maker inquiries
  • Validation Spiff/Contest/Bonus eligibility, and submit quarterly approval requests and payout items
  • Support Finance Business partners with ad hoc reporting needs and any compensation related data required for reviews
  • Focus on delivering a positive customer and partner experience. Single point of contact for cross-functional teams regarding commission and payout structure
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders within Finance, Marketing, BI and HR Comp teams in Dell and DFS to drive standardization and consistency across segments

Qualified candidates will possess the following skills/expertise:

  • Bachelor s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field / 4+ years of prior finance experience
  • Strong Financial Acumen
  • Maintain a strong controls environment
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze large data sets, measure results, and make recommendations that drive payout accuracy and process efficiency
  • Strong project management skills and ability to multi-task
  • Strong presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strategic thinking and ability to effectively communicate and influence at the Executive level
  • Preferred knowledge or understanding of Dell Compensation systems (e. g., COINS, Score)
  • Familiarity of sales comp processes and knowledge of compensation models
  • Strong collaboration with business partners
  • Effective and successful management of business priorities
  • Detail oriented; able to identify, investigate, troubleshoot and audit payout issues Advanced Excel skills
  • Able to balance and manage both tactical and strategic work streams relating to area of responsibility

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
