5 Full-time 2 days ago Full Job Description JOB Under general supervision, is responsible for processing and verifying daily deposits; prepares cash reports; processes payments; mails checks per order; prepares reverse accounting entries; answers questions regarding billing payments and procedures; prepares itemized statements; maintains documentation.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Prepares checks as required on order or otherwise authorized Prepares excel spreadsheet, electronic fund transfers, and wire transfersUpdate quick books and agency log weeklyResearch cases and auction funds to properly disburse Performs audits of monthly banking controls Prepares and submits various departmental activity reportsProcesses court cost, AD Litem, and Citation by Publication payments Answers questions in person and by telephone regarding payments to respondents and County Auditor's officeFiles and maintains documentation such as photocopies of checksPerforms related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Graduation from High School or a General Education Development (GED) certificate, one (1) year in account management or bookkeeping experience and one (1) year cashiering experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experienceKnowledge of account management and basic accounting proceduresSkill in operating personal computer, 10-key adding machine, typewriter and basic office equipmentAbility to perform basic mathematical calculations; ability to deal with hostile or irrational people; ability to effectively respond to inquiries and complaints; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-worker, other County employees, attorneys and the publicMust secure and maintain a favorable background investigation and clearanceMust be able to maintain an effective attendance record/patternMust clear a pre-employment physical May be required to work more than 40 hours during the workweekWorking Environment and Physical Demands:
Working conditions are inside an office environmentPhysical requirements include lifting/carrying 10-20 lbs.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
